Updated: Apr 7, 2022

Have Student Loan Debt And Think You Can't Buy a Home? I'm Here To Help! 47% of Americans think that just because they have student loan debt they won't be able to purchase a home. I'm here to change your thinking. According to the National Association of Realtor's recent report, 37% of first-time home buyers actually have on average, $30,000 of student loan debt. If they can do it you can too!

Hi everyone, this is Shailey O Sharma, your Mindful Realtor with 4 ways that you can get this process started.

  1. Check your credit score: there are many apps, Credit Karma, being one of them. There is also a website called annualcreditreport.com that you can go on and check your credit score for free.

  2. Reduce your debt to income ratio: potentially increase your income, if that is a possibility. Don't incur any more debt and reduce the debt that you already have, so pay down your debt.

  3. Chip away at your current student loan debt as well: I know there was a time when there was a freeze on student loan debt during the pandemic. It would behoove you to keep putting money away towards the student loan debt and keep paying it down.

  4. Get with your local trusted realtor: and we can introduce you to our Lender partners to get you in touch with them and actually explore mortgage options for you and get the pre-approval process started.

There are your 4-steps. Give me a call today and we can get your home-buying journey started!
